Biography

The lovely Maria St. Clare is a British actress with a very brief career in the world of cinema. Brief though it was, she left a very lasting impression with audiences everywhere when she appeared as Jane in the big-screen movie Intimate Games (1976), which starred British screen legend George Baker, and was written by Tudor Gates, the same guy who was also involved in a collaboration to compose Barbarella (1968). Gameswas a sex-comedy in which Baker played a professor who assigned his class a project to depict all of their sexual fantasies. Maria was one of the beautiful young co-eds, and she did her part with gusto, removing all clothing as well as inhibitions for a nice, long full-frontal scene. She pulls off her shirt, then drops her pants, as she sashays around the dorm room of a guy with a bad haircut, throwing her articles of clothing directly at him while he ogles her tight frame and cowers from her bravado at the same time. The kicker comes when she speaks, revealing her posh British accent. “Can we get on with it now?” she asks, and Mr. Skin finds himself nodding vigorously. For her next performance, she appeared as a singer in an episode of The Professionals in 1978, and then ended her career playing a girl at the nurseries in the BBC2 Play of the Week, “On Giant’s Shoulders” in 1979. Mr. Skin thanks Maria kindly for making sure that at least one of her three credits included as much skin as possible—girl’s got her priorities straight.
