Mr. Skin has a bone to pick with the Indian entertainment biz. The cinema of India is a bigger industry than that in Hollywood, but it’s far more conservative. There's just no nudity, even with such nude-worthy actresses as Mandakini to show off. That's what makes this star such a phenomenon; she is actually, for real skinful in her movie debut, Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985). It's only a wet-nursing scene, but what a lucky baby to suck on those milk sacks! No wonder the movie made her a star. She also wears a white outfit that clings to hear rack, and lucky viewers can nearly make out her nips through the flimsy fabric. Despite her made-for-the-camera good looks, Mandakini's career didn't get off to easy start. Born under the name "Yasmeen Joseph" on July 30, 1963, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India, Mandakini was rejected by at least three filmmakers before she was discovered at the age of twenty-two for her role in Ram Teri Ganga Maili. Mandakini proved those first few filmmakers wrong, earning a Filmfare nomination for "Best Actress." Of course, her nude scene caused quite the stir in the India (and it likely caused a stir in male viewers' pants!). Despite the slight backlash, Mandakini kept making movies, including the wildly popular Dance Dance (1987), until she left the business with Zordaar (1996). She came back for a couple of flicks in 2002, but Mandakini quickly left the spotlight once again. She's still hotter than vindaloo, so let's hope she offers up a second helping soon.
