Macho im Schleudergang (2005)

Director Edzard Onneken assembles a top-tier cast of German talent for the made-for-TV comedy Macho im Schleudergang (2005). Jan Sosniok stars as the ultra-stylish Tom Kostner, a chic journalist whose love of fast cars, football, and women is well documented. When a well-paying job at a women’s magazine opens up, Sosniok leaps at the opportunity to pad his wallet, but first he’ll have to prove his feminine instincts by pretending that he swings the other way. Onneken uses this outlandish premise to construct a narrative in which babes go out of their way to throw themselves at the suddenly unavailable Kostner. Diana Herold, Doreen Jacobi, Lilia Lehner, and Loretta Stern all manage to look comely (but clothed) for the director’s camera.
