Review

The early 80’s British ITV series Luna bore similarities to such sci-fi classics as Logan’s Run and Blade Runner. Set in the year 2040, its central character was a teenage girl named Luna (Patsy Kensit) who lives in a domed city that has been sealed off from the post-apocalyptic wasteland outside. She lives with her oddball family, which includes “gramps,” an old man who dresses like something from the cover of The Clash’s London Calling album and enjoys listening to “classical music” like Human League. Luna also lives with a teenage brother and a robot named Andy. In this futuristic society, all humans are bred artificially and robots are used as pets and domestic labor. This sci-fi/comedy series, which lasted for two seasons, is probably most noteworthy for inventing its own language. Much like the Klingon language on Star Trek, the show’s writers invented “Techno Talk,” an abbreviated form of language with a unique grammatical structure that was supposed to facilitate vocal interface with computers. While the strange language doubtless turned some potential fans off, it also endeared the show to a small cadre of loyal fans. Even today, an on-line petition exists to release the episodes on DVD. More important than preserving Luna, however, is preserving the nude scenes of Patsy Kensit, and we at MrSkin.com are striving to do just that. Take one look at her and you’ll easily see why. This ravishing blonde first made major waves in the states as South African consulate secretary Rika Van Den Hass in Lethal Weapon 2. In that film, she gave us an enjoyable “seventh inning stretch” as she rolled around naked with Mel Gibson and revealed one of the most fantastic set of breasts to ever hit the big screen. She later got hosed on and hosed off in the shower scene of Bitter Harvest and lounged luxuriantly on a canopy bed in Angels and Insects. All we can say is that her mosquito bites in that one were heavenly.
