Here at Skin Central where we spend both our work and play time worshipping every version of the female form, it's easy to forget how many ladies are insecure with their looks. Nicole Holofcner's Lovely & Amazing (2001), the story of four mixed-up ladies, provides a reminder that even the most gorgeous of gals suffer from all sorts of self-doubt. There's Jane Marks (Brenda Blethyn), an older single mom who goes under the knife to remove some unwanted fat and almost ends up dead in her pursuit of perfection. She has a black adopted daughter named Annie (Raven Goodwin), who's got all sorts of problems based on racial differences like a hatred of her not so straight hair, and an eating disorder from trying to control her weight. Jane's daughter Michelle (Catherine Keener) is a failed artist who is stuck working at a one-hour photo shop where she's begun straying away from her dull husband (Clark Gregg) for the love of her teen coworker (Jake Gyllenhaal), until their affair is cut short. But breast of all is Jane's other daughter, the insecure actress Elizabeth, portrayed by Emily Mortimer, who has a near mental breakdown when she's deemed not hot enough for a role. Blasphemous! That's basically the plot of the movie: it's just a whole movie about women hating on themselves. We hate that we don't see all the adult ones naked, but at least we get some amazing full frontal from Emily Mortimer. Emily shows titty posing for some photos in a transparent top, but we wanted more! Thankfully, she holds absolutely nothing back when she goes totally naked in front of her boyfriend and asks what he thinks of her body. With red nips and a bussin bush, we think it's Lovely & Amazing
