Most people remember The Mary Tyler Moore Show about the girl who goes to the city to be a big-shot TV news producer. Who could turn the world on with her smile? You can bet your sweet ass that Mary could. She was gonna make it after all and make it she did--for a solid seven year run. However, the show eventually came to an end, as all shows must, and when the lights went down, Mary’s gruff but caring editor Lou Grant (Ed Asner) picked up and moved to LA, taking over as editor for the Los Angeles Tribune. Although Lou Grant retained some of its comedic roots, it leaned more towards drama, social issues, and exploring the interpersonal relationships of its characters. One of the biggest dynamics of the show was Lou’s adversarial relationship with the newspaper’s owner, the bitchy and annoying Mrs. Pynchon (Nancy Marchand). Marchand went on to play another overbearing hell-bitch character--the matriarch on HBO’s blockbuster seriesThe Sopranos--before her passing between the second and third season. She did not get naked in anything that we know of--thank the Lord Jesus Almighty. However, one person from Lou Grant did (and no, it wasn’t Ed Asner--thank the aforementioned deity again). The very cute girl-next-door brunette Rebecca Balding gave us a brief shot of what she got in The Boogens, and what a fine little pair of cheeks she had! She also had a skinful moment in Silent Scream.
