This 1993 WB sitcom enjoyed a surprisingly long run of five years, considering it did so on a network where most shows have the shelf life of unrefrigerated bratwurst. Bland rapper Queen Latifah and Facts of Life girl Kim Fields starred in this uninspired sitcom about living in New York City and being black professionals at a magazine that focuses on African-American lifestyle issues. The show rarely attempted to delve into any deep issues, opting to go for the cheap and easy laugh instead. It finally went away in 1998, although unfortunately Queen Latifah did not go away with it. Co-star Erika Alexander later went on to appear in Showtime’s Street Time, an edgy cop show about parole officers and the people they supervise. She briefly bounced her beautifully full brown betties across the screen, giving viewers sudden cravings for a Nestle’s Quick fix.
