A vacationing couple finds trouble in paradise in the made-for-TV German melodrama Lieben und Töten (2006). Feeling the stresses of married life, Isabelle (Anne Brendler) and Tom (Francis Fulton-Smith) decide that a holiday in Southeast Asia might patch over some trouble spots in their relationship. Upon arrival, however, Tom begins suspecting Isabelle of pursuing an extramarital affair and flies off the handle in rage. Tom’s explosion pushes Isabelle right out the door into the arms of a swarthy suitor––the sensitive and caring Klaus (Bernhard Schir). Unfortunately Klaus is under police surveillance after getting mysteriously mixed up in his own wife’s murder. Wolf Gremm’s film features a flurry of harrowing twists and turns, but no curves are as fabulous as the ones Brendler throws at viewers in scenes of carnal embrace.
