Le concile de pierre (2006)

An adaptation of Jean-Christophe Grange's novel of the same name, Le Concile de pierre (2006) stars mouth-watering Monica Bellucci as Laura, a serious (and seriously sexy) Parisian interpreter who has adopted a Thai boy from central Russia. But when wee Nicolas Thau turns seven, he starts seeing things and speaking in a spooky language. Then a strange mark appears on his chest, and people start whispering that a long-awaited sign has finally appeared. It seems like everyone around them is scheming, and trusted friends Sami Bouajila, Elsa Zylberstein, and the always de-lovely Catherine Deneuve appear to be in on the plot. When Monica and Nicolas try to flee all this freakishness, they get into a car accident. Then Nic gets kidnapped by Russian spy guy Moritz Bleibtreu, who has the taste to have the hots for Monica and the smarts to know what's behind all the Rosemary's Baby (1968) madness.
