La pianiste (2001)

If you’ve ever wondered what (or who) teachers do after the school bell rings, then La pianiste (2001) is the film for you. Also known as The Piano Teacher, this French flick is noteworthy thanks to Isabelle Huppert’s perv-formance. Based on Elfriede Jelinek’s same-named novel, the erotic drama follows an unmarried piano teacher named Erika Kohut (Huppert) who falls into a sadomasochistic relationship with her student Walter Klemmer (Benoît Magimel). We wouldn’t exactly say they make beautiful music together, but the two do fulfill each other’s kinky fantasies. Yet, for a film about BDSM sex, there isn’t a whole lot of nudity. Maybe denying us skin is a new form of filmmaking sadism! Nevertheless, there are a couple of scenes that will have you playing your own organ. After being hit in the mouth, Erika splits a lip. With no bandages around, she pulls up her shirt and bares her breast while trying to stop the bleeding. Of course, Mr. Skin prefers seeing women covered in another bodily fluid, but we’ll take the flesh flash. Later, the lady lays on her back and gives us a peek at her panties while her horny student fills her mouth with his instrument. Perhaps that’s why the movie was a suck-cess at the Cannes Film Festival where Ms. Huppert and Mr. Magimel were named Best Actress and Best Actor, respectively. If that’s not impressive enough, the director Michael Haneke took home the Grand Prix Award. We confess the titillating pic also gave us grand pricks!
