Knight of Cups (2015)

The title of Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups  (2015) comes straight from the Tarot deck, telling a story about a young man sent by his father to find a pearl. Instead, the young man drinks from a cup and forgets his entire mission, much like many of us after happy hour. In this updated adaptation, the man is a screenwriter named Rick (Christian Bale). He’s depressed, his brother Barry (Wes Bentley) is depressed, and his father Joseph (Brian Dennehy) is depressed. As such, Rick spends much of his time trying to find fulfillment via various women, from his wife Nancy (Cate Blanchett) to his married mistress Elizabeth (Natalie Portman) with a bevy of babes in between. Indeed, the movie includes alluring actresses Beau Garrett, Cherry Jones, Freida Pinto, and Imogen Poots, as well as A-list actors Antonio Banderas and Ryan O’Neal. Amid the arthouse film’s stream of consciousness style, viewers will be streaming other things when they get a gander at the bikini body on a stripper (Teresa Palmer). The same can be said for a tattooed weightlifter (Janette Roderick) who’ll make you want to give yourself a workout. Not to be outdone, Isabel Lucas flaunts her fab rack and ass while skinny-dipping in a pool. If that’s not arousing enough, Jessica Farrow bares her nude boobs and booty on the beach. Breast of all, a topless hottie (Raquel Zimmerman) and a be-thonged model (Melissa Haro) have a threesome with Rick. Remind us why this guy is having a midlife crisis again?
