Review

Good recent productions starring C. Thomas Howell are very, very rare. Fortunately the TV series Kindred: The Embraced is one of the few exceptions to this rule. Against all odds, it’s quite entertaining - thanks mainly to an intriguing storyline and an excellent cast (Kelly Rutherford, Stacy Haiduk, and Patrick Bauchau to name a few others). Be that as it may, due to the unexpected demise of leading actor Mark Frankel (he died in a motorcycle accident) it sadly had to be cancelled after only nine episodes. As far as the story goes, Kindred: The Embraced is based on the role-playing game “Vampire: the Masquerade” and portrays five clans of vampires living in San Francisco. What sets it apart from other productions dealing with similar materials is that in this case the vampires aren’t portrayed as thoroughly evil but as a “normal” race living parallel to our own.Nudity Report: None, although Stacy Haiduk and Brigid Conley Walsh provided some decent cleavage. For a couple of more intimate looks at Haiduk and her perfect rack check out Luther the Greek or the Playboy production The Beneficiary.
