Kahit saan... kung pwede (1998)

Class divisions keep a lovely but underprivileged Filipino girl from finding true love in the Pinoy romantic comedy Kahit saan... kung pwede (1998). Rosing (Margarita Milan), the attractive daughter of an overworked chauffeur, is deeply in love with her father’s employer. Unfortunately the boy’s too immersed in high society to notice her. Thankfully Rosing’s savvy friend Aloha teaches her a trick or two about attracting the opposite sex, and before long sparks are flying. Ferren Salumbides’s film is deceptive--though the plot seems like teen-movie fare, the performances are decidedly adult. Milan and co-stars Natasha Ledesma and Isabel Reyes strip all the way down to adroitly inhabit their roles.
