With a sleek physique, jet black hair, and a pretty pair of deep dark eyes, it’s no surprise South Korean stunner Jin-Young Jang became a star! After working as a model and competing in the 1993 Miss Korea beauty contest, the gorgeous gal made her acting debut in the TV movie The Angel Within (1997). The exotic ingénue then exposed her … acting chops in Ghost in Love (1999). Also known as Suicide Ghost Club, the film’s plot resembles Leo Tolstoy’s novel Anna Karenina. Next, the pretty performer showed off her comic timing (and sexy screen presence) in the dramedy The Foul King (2000) and the rom-com Singles (2003), which produced a Blue Dragon Film Award for Best Actress! The same can be said for her titillating turn in the horror flick Sorum (2001). No doubt, Jang put the thrills into this thriller when she unhooked her brassiere to bare her beautiful breasts! Perhaps that’s why the part paid off with more Best Actress wins from the Busan Film Critics Awards, the Festival de Cine de Sitges, and the Fantasporto International Fantasy Film Awards. Jang continued to be praised for her work in Blue Swallow (2006) and Between Love and Hate (2007) which garnered a Korean Association of Film Critics Award and a Korean Film Award, respectively. Alas, Jin-Young was awarded a prize she probably would have passed on. Since she prematurely passed away in 2009, the esteemed actress was given a Memorial Award at the Director’s Cut Awards.
