malthe commentary

Director Uwe Boll is often accused of being a hack whose sole objective is packing his films with as much violence and nudity as possible. To which we say, so what? That's what Mr. Skin is for!

Boll recently recorded commentary for his new(ish) movie Bloodrayne: The Third Reich (2010), and according to The Onion AV Club's analysis, the track doesn't do much to dispel his breast-obsessed image. Among the choice tit-bits:

One of the biggest sales aspects is, ‘Yes, we go for it! We do full nudity and whatever, yeah!," he brags, before slamming his competitors for their lack of commitment to nudity: “Kate Beckinsalewould never be acting naked inUnderworld,” and while Milla Jovovich is “not so picky” in the Resident Evil franchise, “she is not doing nudity.” [Actually, she was nude in both Resident Evil (2002) and Resident Evil: liopvcan commentaryApocalypse (2004). Sorry, Uwe. -SC]

But despite his unwavering devotion to skin, Uwe Boll is apparently the only person who has ever had trouble getting Eastern European girls to take their clothes off: "In Croatia it’s not easy to find girls or whatever, who play naked or nudity in a way. It’s a very Catholic state, and so it was not easy."

Perhaps it was your bedside manner? "The girls were not really so pretty, basically, a lot who are running around in the bordello, [Like
Dora Lipovcan, right -SC] not so pretty."

And the frustration doesn't end there:“I made an offer toNatassia Malthe. I said, ‘I need you full-on nude. I need you in sex scenes in the movie, or I don’t give you the part, you don’t do it,’” he says with his usual sensitivity. But when it came time to shoot the Anatomy Award-winning lesbian massage scene, Natassia got cold feet:

tovilo commentary"Then Malthe was, on the day, really nervous, and said, 'I don’t want to do it. I don’t want to do it.' And before that, she said she had no problem in doing it, and then she had a problem doing it...I really had to yell around ‘Kiss her! Kiss her!’ And then nothing happened, and it took forever until we got the two a little heated up, because [co-star] Davorka Tovilo had problems with it also.

Don't these girls understand this is the whole reason the BloodRayne movies exist?: “In BloodRayne 2, there was basically no sex." [Note that it is not on Mr. Skin -SC] "So I told [Screenwriter Michael C. Nachoff] from the beginning on it, if you going to write that script, write some sex scenes then, because this is what people really liked from the first one. ThatKristanna Lokenwas not prude or whatever.”

Uwe, you greasy ball of misunderstood rage of a man, don't you ever, ever change.
