Guys are such suckers. We never know when we're better off. If a smitten dude's wife runs off with some lame but rich tool, the indicated action of the former husband is to thank the cash-flush chump for taking the money-grubbing pariah off his hands. Too often, however, the irrational male fits the template of the abandoned groom whose travails make up the dramatic grist of slapstick relationship study Good Idea (1975). Notable for being hefty comedian John Candy's big-screen debut--as a hyper-conflicted cop--the bad thinking of Good Idea has the heroic cuckold embarking upon farfetched and absurd schemes to win back the love, or at least the companionship, of his dollar-hearted hussy. Pray that he wises up before the end credits roll.
