Al Pacino is an embittered and haunted LA detective who teams up with local cop Hilary Swank to investigate a teenage girl’s murder in small town Alaska, in the mystery thriller Insomnia (2002). Christopher Nolan's largely forgotten flick squeezed between Memento (2000) and Batman Begins (2005) in his filmography, Pacino plays Will Dormer, a legendary LAPD detective that heads to a tiny town in Alaska to help them solve a murder. What makes Dormer such a good detective? Largely that he uses some incredibly illegal techniques and plants all sort of evidence, which his partner Hap (Martin Donovan) is about to expose him for. At least he was, until the suspect they're tracking shot him to death. Knowing that he's going to be the primary suspect, since the odds Hap just so happened to get killed by someone else right before he was about to blow up Will's world seem pretty slim, Will essentially stops sleeping. Yes, Will is tormented by the fact that the sun never sets along with late-night, taunting phone calls from the suspect (Robin Williams). With the local detective Ellie Burr (Hilary Swank) by his side, Will sets out to bring down the Alaskan killer and do his best to clear his own name. But catching killers is pretty tough when you can't catch any Z's. As the murder victim, Crystal Lowe may not have any lines, but she steals the show with her boob- and bush-baring appearance as a corpse in the morgue. Yes, she's looking fab on the slab while Pacino checks out her full frontal baring bod. Sure, it might feel a bit weird to pop a bone to Crystal pretending to be a corpse in Insomnia, but she's hot enough that we can't help it. So don't let it keep you up at night.
