In the Heat of the Night

No Nudity

Review

This 1988 crime series was a late follow-up to the multiple award winning 1967 feature film of the same title. It marked one of the few occasions where a TV spin-off capably managed to live up to the standards of its predecessor. In the Heat of the Night was very well received and – despite an obvious lack of star-power – won several awards of its own, among them the 1989 Emmy for the late Carroll O'Connor and his portrayal of sheriff Bill Gillespie. The story basically continued where the movie ended by focusing on Gillespie and investigator Virgil Tibbs (Howard E. Rollins Jr.). Over the course of their various investigations they often have to overcome small-town politics and frequent racial tensions. Nudity Report: None, but Anne-Marie Johnson, who played the wife of Virgil Tibbs, provided some nudity in the 1990 flick Robot Jox. It’s not much but well worth the effort!
