Ich habe Nein gesagt (1999)

An unhappily married woman seeks solace in the arms of her husband’s employee in the steamy made-for-TV German drama Ich habe Nein gesagt (1999). Martina Gedeck stars as Doris Wengler, an attractive young wife and mother who’s grown despondent over her relationship with the hyper-masculine Werner (Jörg Schüttauf). When Doris decides to pursue an affair with an assistant at her husband’s shop (Peter Davor), Werner reacts with fury, lashing out at the cuckold and assaulting his wife. Director Markus Imboden is unsparing in his depiction of marital assault, making Ich habe Nein gesagt a much-discussed case study in Germany. More immediately compelling, however, is the performance of Gedeck, who flaunts a top-notch bod in boff sessions with Ricki (Davor) that are hardly under duress.
