I Melt with You (2011)

Four 40-somethings meet up for a reunion, but a pact they made as young men threatens to change their lives forever in I Melt with You (2011). College buddies Richard (Thomas Jane), Ron (Jeremy Piven), Jonathan (Rob Lowe) and Tim (Christian McKay) meet up at Big Sur to celebrate Tom's 44th, reminisce about the good old days, and get wasted. But while they present their lives as big successes, they kind of suck. Richard's a onetime promising author stuck teaching high school English, Ron's a stockbroker staring at a potential trip to Club Fed, Jonathan's a doctor who hands out prescription pills to whoever will pay him, and Tim can't get over a fatal car crash he was the cause of. But after all the drugs, drinking, and chasing young tail, Tim throws a huge wrench into their plans. He hangs himself, then reminds the gang (via his suicide letter) that they vowed decades ago to all do the same if they found their middle age lives to be a drag. They decide to hide the body since they think the cops will see all the drugs and accuse them of foul play, then have a few lengthy chats about how serious that suicide pact was. Are our friends going to use their buddies death to turn their lives around, or go full Jonestown and fulfill a promise they made to their former selves? There's always something to live for when you've got a face meltingly hot honey to look at.
