Morena Corwin was born on October 24, 1969 in Seoul to a Korean mother and American serviceman father. “When she was just a year old, her family moved to tiny Fowlerville, Michigan {birthplace of baseball great Charlie Gehringer}, where sisterLola was born two years later. With such exotic looks, they “didn’t fit in” … but neither was “an easy lei,” Morena makes clear (below left).
And neither had much use for swimsuit tops!
Something else the Corwin teens had in common, once their mom relocated to Orlando, was working at the local Hooters—Morena in Jacksonville …
… and Lola nearby at the Jacksonville Beach location!
In May 2014, Jacksonville Beach launched a petition to become ‘clothing optional’—in the words of Jacksonville.com, “to allow bare buttock crackage, ta-tas and other body parts to be fully exposed.” Snapped crusty conservative Mayor Charlie Latham: “It’s not happening on my watch. All the guys who sign this doggone thing are expecting Cheryl Tiegs on the beach {showing his age—she was 67 at the time}, and what they are going to get is middle-age fat people like me.” Or perhaps the Corwin sisters:
“Morena started modeling when she was teenager,” reads her bio at IMDb. “Her big break occurred when she was working as a waitress at Hooters and was chosen by the restaurant chain to be featured in calendars and trading cards.”
“Morena offers up the information that, as undergarments go, she prefers garter belts and stockings (below left) to the pantyhose she wears daily on the job,” noted one profile.
“It’s something that an old boyfriend suggested,” she says, “and now I just think they just feel better.” And she was clearly open to being felt (above right). “But he was too bossy”—actually he was the head honcho at her Hooters! “He’s ancient history.”
And speaking of ancient history: “I’m really proud of my heritage now. My great-great-grandfather was an Emperor in Korea—there’s even a statue of him in the province of Kangangwon-do.” Clearly she’s blessed …
As for what she “thought was most attractive about herself,” the ethnic eyeful enthused: “Being Asian with fulllips, definitely.” With such lush roots (below right), we’ll have to take her word on that!
A rep from the Irene Modeling Agency in Miami Beach happened to see Morena’s 1993 Hooters Calendar card (above left) … and “subsequently signed me” to a long-term fashion modeling contract. Which produced another kind of collectible—an agency profile comp card with her vital statistics (below left).

Now quietly married with two children, Morena always maintained she wasn’t “interested in a wealthy celebrity as a boyfriend. I wouldn’t want somebody like Jack Nicholson, who went through girls like dominoes.”
A domino tile is called a “bone” … and one of the biggest in rock reportedly belongs to Anthony Kiedis, lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, whom little sister Lola decided to ‘Give It Away’ to in 2002!
So what did cocksman Kiedis see in Lola? Apparently, himself !
By all accounts the more carnal of the Corwins, the 3-years-younger sister smiled: “I have a streak of craziness. I can be super-wild, carefree and fun. I’m also mean and cold when necessary.” Unpredictably ‘Red Hot’ and cold … no wonder this spicy ‘Chili’ brought his ‘Pepper’ to a boil!
And unlike Morena, Lola let her “full Asian lips” out to splay.
Maybe Anthony sought her out after the model was featured on the Fox reality series Temptation Island the year before—the daring dating show in which “13 bikini-clad temptresses were flown in to Belize to entice the men” to stray from their real-life lovers (below left). Lola became instantly infamous when she was the first casualty—“voted off the island by the guys because she was too tempting!” Hat’s off to her!
“Asian women have usually been fetishized rather than desexualized on network dating shows (when rarely they’ve appeared),” observed the book Reality Bites Back. “Korean-American lingerie model Lola Corwin was perhaps the first, featured on Temptation Island—as an ‘exotic temptress’ hired by Fox to seduce men away from their girlfriends. Corwin foreshadowed A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, the only dating show headlined by an Asian-American woman, albeit with a bisexuality-themed search.”
The sisters insisted they “never fooled around” with each other—nor shared a man—but they did share a bustmeasurement of 34C. Though while Morena’s was “natural” (below right), Lola’s was “enhanced” (com•pair the two figures to the left):
Lola and Morena are believed to be the first set of sisters to work simultaneously at Hooters—albeit a few miles apart at the Jacksonville Landing and Beach locations (two of four within gawking distance, see map}.
So while they didn’t technically work side by side … the sexy sisters always had each other’s back(side)—Lola’s luscious END on the left in each.
