Holly Woodlawn was born in 1946 as Haraldo Santiago Franceschi Rodriguez, a citizen of Puerto Rico. Her family quickly moved to Miami Beach, where she lived (and came out) before moving up to New York City. She made her debut at Reno Sweeney's in 1973 on a double bill and was inaugurated as one of Andy Warhol's drag queen sidekicks soon after, getting major parts in two of his movies. In Trash (1970), she was initially supposed to have a small part but ended up snagging a major role when the director saw her acting skills—for which we're very grateful, as it allowed us to see her masturbate with a Miller bottle. Women in Revolt (1971), a satire of the women's liberation movement, stars Holly as a horny feminist, hell-bent on both equality and a good lay. We get to see her boobs and butt in both features—they're regular Warhol masterpieces.
