Lots of Playboy Playmates go on to films, but they're usually just window dressing. Heidi Sorenson--Miss July 1981--actually went on to show some real comedic talent, acting ability, and she could sing too! Vancouver Canada's own, Heidi won a bikini contest as a teenager, which led to a Playboy scout offering her a spot in the magazine. On top of her photoshoots, Heidi was also a member of the "Singing Playmates", Playboy's ill advised attempt to create a girl group. Sashaying to the acting world, she was just another sexy Vestal Virgin in Mel Brooks's History of the World: Part 1 (1981), but soon Heidi found herself on episodes of huge eighties hits like Cheers and T.J. Hooker. Speaking of hookers, after playing a doomed lady of the night in Fright Night (1985) Heidi was lots of fun while doffing her top in Spies Like Us (1985). I spy with my little eye some disappointment for film goers, since she only let us see her bouncers in a bra after getting out of bed with Chevy Chase. She joined Steve Martin in Roxanne (1987) before going for a long ride on top of some meathead as Jodi on an episode of HBO's sex comedy Dream On. Heidi does not play hide and go seek with her huge hooters. They're in full view the whole time. But Heidi can also get a dramatic rise in our trousers in a dramatic role, too, like when she stripped down for a sex scene in Suspect Device (1995) that we suspect will have you diddling your device. Heidi ditched the acting world the same year, and now works as a holistic healer who specializes in helping women with breast cancer.
