Gimme a Break!

The well-admired and long-running sitcom Gimme a Break! got its start in 1981 and ran for 137 episodes over the next seven years, working mainly as a vehicle for the full-figured and very funny Nell Carter. Nell was the nanny for an affable middle-class family, one which boasted three delightful daughters to ogle over. Kari Michaelson, Lauri Hendler, and Lara Jill Miller got to grow up (and out) before our very eyes, and as the show progressed the cast added dolls such as Telma Hopkins and Rosie O’Donnell into the mix! We’re not exactly looking for a “break”, but we’d be thrilled to have these gals “gimme” something!
