At long last, Zooey Deschanel, the doe-eyed waif with the J.D. Salinger-inspired name, has broken out of the prison of the non-nude and showed off her deschanippples in the upcoming romantic comedy Gigantic.
It’s always a joyous occasion when Mr Skin can upgrade an A-lister who has never shown skin (or at most, had a questionable nip-slip or flashed some coin slot) from the dreaded one-star “no nudity” rating to the status of two-star actresses like Amy Adams, Sandra Bullock, and Scarlett Johansson.
It happened in 2005 with Marisa Tomei in Factotum and in 2007 with Winona Ryder in Sex & Death 101 and now Zooey is joining the ranks of the rack-revealers.
57 minutes into Gigantic (a word you couldn’t use to describe Zooey’s b-cups), she strips down to her panties beside a pool. First, we see her boobs reflected in the rippling water, then there’s a much better look from a distance as she stands topless on the diving board. Finally, when Zooey comes out of the water after taking the plunge, her mams briefly break the surface.
Mr Skin only hopes that this brief topless scene will inspire Zooey’s older (and even more skin-gy) sister Emily to outdo her and do a full-frontal scene in her next movie. Maybe this will set off a nudity competition between the Deschanel sisters that will end with both girls guest starring on whatever Showtime’s putting on to replace the L Word!
