The warm, evocatively titled romantic comedy French Postcards (1979) chronicles the living, loving exploits in and out of the classroom among a giddy gaggle of American exchange students as they spend a year abroad in Paris. Before the pair, who were also the screenwriters behind American Graffiti (1973) wrote Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), Willard Huyck directed this story, penned by his wife and creative partner Gloria Katz, about a group of college kids coming of age while studying in France. Joel's a sort of shy guy, who lucks out when he meets the sexually adventurous French woman Toni (Valerie Quennessen) who introduces him to her countries' much more laissez faire, amorous attitudes. Alex (David Marshall Grant) also ends up in an amazing position, since he's hot for teacher, and Madame Tessier (Marie-France Pisier) is looking to get back at her husband somehow. It's a win, win! The only one who's not taking off her pants in France is Laura (Blanche Baker), who is homesick for her boyfriend and passes the time sending him postcards from the museums she spends all day visiting. Some fall in love, some get drunk, some run wild through the streets of Paris, some study hard and actually do some learning. But everyone comes back to the USA with a new perspective on life. Why study abroad is you're doing well with the broads at your local school? You'll understand after seeing Marie France-Pisier's work in this one. She's the college prof you're begging to take it off, and luckily for us all she does! Marie's puts her mams on display as she undresses in front of a mirror, then strips to her undies to seduce young Alex. Send us a postcard of that perky French pair!
