A couple of big name movies have been on the Skin Radar recently, with Lars von Trier's latest project, Nymphomaniac being hyped as "the erotic life of woman through the age of fifty", and the explicit French lesbian drama Blue is the Warmest Color winning the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival.

The good news is that both films are slated to show epic amounts of nudity, the bad news is that all the boundary-pushing hardcore action will include SFX.

Nymphomaniac producer Louise Vesth confirmed with The Hollywood Reporter that there will be graphic sex scenes between the members of the all-star cast, including Charlotte Gainsbourg and Uma Thurman, but:

“We shot the actors pretending to have sex and then had the body doubles, who really did have sex, and in post we will digital-impose the two,” Vesth explained. “So above the waist it will be the star and the below the waist it will be the doubles.”

Meanwhile, French fox Lea Seydoux has a graphic 10-minute lesbian interlude with Adele Exarchopoulos in Blue is the Warmest Color, but she confirmed with Crave Online that the close-up, lower-lippage licking was part prosthetic:

"No, we had fake pussys. It was like SFX. It was well done. It was not very nice because it was fake... It was a mold. If the scenes were for real, I wouldn’t have done this for sure. I can do many things on screen but I can’t make love. It’s impossible. It was a mold, we did it in an SFX studio We did a real mold and every morning when we had to do the sex scenes, the guy was coming in putting it on. We had to wait like two hours to put it on."

At least one lucky make-up artist got to see under the prosthetic!
