In 1986, Brian Brown made some unexpected box office bucks with a little film called F/X, about a special effects guy who is roped into setting up a fake death to help the witness protection program, only things start to go wrong and he finds his life in danger. It didn’t suck, so in 1991 they made a sequel, which did. But that wasn’t enough to stop Rysher Entertainment and Canada’s CTV from retooling the premise for a syndicated TV series in 1996, this time starring former Australian soap star Cameron Daddo. Though it did some decent business over the following two years, a lack of solid network distribution eventually saw the show’s demise.
