Empire of the Wolves (2005)

A young woman has lost her memory. Her past being wiped away might have been her good luck, except that elements within the Parisian police force have taken an interest in who she might have been, in the unsavory characters she may have known, and in the connections these characters might have to a series of grisly mutilation murders. The empty-headed miss does not know how she has arrived there, but she is in the Empire of the Wolves (2005). In this domain, the good cop is the bad cop, the doctor’s primary aim is to do harm, and a wandering girl’s only hope of survival could be crushed at any instant by a ricochet of malicious chance. The film is French, fast-paced, and post-modernist nihilist.
