If summertime 1982 served as cherry-popping Ground Zero for the decade’s teen sex comedy phenomenon—and seeing as it contained the premieres of Porky's, The Last American Virgin, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High, it did—then the subsequent swelter season’s Private School (1983) was the first direct fallout. And what a gloriously radiant after-effect it is.

To be sure, a spate of raunchy teen farces did rush into theaters during the ’82-’83 school year—among them: The Beach Girls, Homework, Joysticks, Losin’ It, Goin’ All the Way, My Tutor, Pink Motel, Spring Break, (the mighty) Screwballs, and (the also mighty) Zapped!

But Private School represented Hollywood’s first full-scale attempt to concoct an all-out teen sex comedy blockbuster, calculatedly combining familiar genre tropes (nerds, jocks, nudity-producing pranks, cross-dressing one’s way into the girls’ shower room, etc.), and then adding Phoebe Cates—the naked girl from Fast Times—up on top like a beautiful, brown-nippled bow.

Softcore super-siren Andrea Davis has been hailed for having the largest, longest, and most lickably illustrious nipples in contemporary sexploitation. Now she’s gone and done something unthinkable and unspankable. Come joining us in mourning over not coming.

That’s Hollywood! was a late-'70s/early-’80s syndicated TV series doling out admirable half-hour cinema history lessons that were narrated by the dulcet tones of Mr. Tom Bosley. Before VCRs and instant access to more movie clips than anyone could possibly stand, this and Siskel and Ebert served as methadone to movie freaks between big-screen fixes. The show has become something of a minor cult item, and never moreso than in the instance of its episode dedicated to big cult movies.

The finest nudity-laden films of 2008 include two horror hits, and a comedy featuring the naked asshole, vagina, and pert little suck-sacks of Meg McCarville, who was Andrea Davis’s main competition in the realm of superhumanly succulent nipples, and who know has the crown all to herself. Orally Obsessed Obscure Oration of Overt Onanism Opens Other Orifices

In 1994, forty years after its publication, the world learned the identity of the woman who wrote the famed erotic novel of dominance and submission The Story of O, the most masturbated-to work of literature ever to win the Prix des Deux Magots.

Anne Desclos, the novel’s author, was a respected journalist and literary figure linked to writers like T.S. Eliot and Evelyn Waugh. She was a bisexual in life, and wrote the novel when her boyfriend, Jean Paulhan, suggested to her that women couldn’t write pornography.

Two years later, using the nom-de-porn Jeanne de Berg, another French woman, Catherine Robbe-Grillet (wife of Alain Robbe-Grillet, father of the Nouveau Roman), wrote the similarly-themed The Image, which inspired Radley Metzger’s The Punishment of Anne.

In 1975, Emmanuelle director Just Jaeckin made a film version with Corrine Clery as O, Li Sellgren as her lesbian lover Jacqueline, Udo Kier as her first master Rene, and (after Christopher Lee turned down the role), Anthony Steel as Sir Steven, the man to whom Rene gives her as a slave.

Just as his Emmanuelle did one year ago, Just Jaeckin’s The Story of O will get a special edition release on Blu-ray November 11.

Having already established herself as a skinternational softcore starlet with Emmanuelle, Emmanuelle 2, and Goodbye Emmanuelle, Dutch diva Sylvia Kristel decided to exploit her image in an American sex comedy.

The result was one of the true classics of the genre, Private Lessons. Released August 25, 1981, Private Lessons was a beacon of hope for all the horny pubescent boys hopelessly in lust with the older women in their lives.
