El compleaños del perro (1975)

In the claustrophobic Mexican thriller El Compleaños del perro (1975) two married couples grow intimately close until the murder of one of the women affects the other three in profound ways. The Maldonados (Jorge Martínez de Hoyos and Lina Montes) and the Ballesteros (Diana Bracho and Héctor Bonilla) are practically inseparable, but when Mr. Ballestero kills his wife in a fit of passion, the Maldonados find their loyalty for their friend--and each other--tested. Diana Bracho is dispensed of early, which is a shame, because she’s a fun feast for the eyes while she numbers with the living.
