Down to Earth (1947)

Down to Earth (1947) follows one very angry Greek muse name Terpischore (Rita Hayworth) from the afterlife back to Earth when producer Danny writes a musical farse at her expense. Determined to rectify the affront, she asks a messenger if she can enter the play as an actress to fix the insult, and when he agrees, she quickly gets to work. After falling in love with Danny, he agrees to change the play, ultimately turning it into a serious ballet that totally falls flat. The problem is that he owes a lot of money to gang members and needs the play to succeed, so Terpischore agrees to help. When it's time to leave Earth, she grapples with the loss of Danny—will she ever see him again? We don't know, but we DO know that we see Rita dancing in her underwear! Down to Earth will have you down your pants!
