Doing it doggie style takes on a diverting, comedic twist when young, urban neurotics employ their canine pets to function as intermediaries and stand-ins while sniffing out prospective mates in the hump-or-be-humped social structure of Dog Park (1998). Directed and mostly written by cutting Canadian funnyman Bruce McCulloch, one of the laugh fairies from the sketchy, great-white comedy series Kids in the Hall, Dog Park is an incisive, dry, and ironic dissection of the mating and dating game and illustrates that we are all out of our league when we attempt to keep our animal urges on a short leash.
