Coppola made his feature film debut with this Roger Corman cheapie about an ax-murderer on the loose in an Irish castle. Often very gory, Coppola effectively uses black and white to enhance the horror of this Gothic thriller. Worth a look as both low-budget horror film and as first film for a major American director.
