Demasiado corazón

A change of pace for the Spanish ‘telenovela’, in that this one has a gritty and realistic edge generally missing from those hoary old soap operas. Alfonso is a former policeman in love with the daughter of a powerful (and probably corrupt) politician and the series details their difficult affair in tawdry fashion. Darker and more modern than many of its ilk, Demasiado corazón is worth a look for fans of Spanish TV drama tired of the same old theatrics.
