Deathstalker (1983)

Warriors and wizards mix like thrills and chills, especially when tossed in with ethereal princess captives who magically expose their enchanted orbs! That fact goes a long way in explaining the massive success of Deathstalker (1983), a New World Pictures fantasy flick that spawned three sequels. In the Argentinean and American co-production, the brawny and big-hearted Deathstalker (Rick Hill) is enlisted by the powers for good, and sent on a mission to retrieve three mystical artifacts--a chalice, an amulet, and a sword--which when properly combined will channel all the powers of creation. Eventually he figures out the easiest way to do it is to win a fighting tournament to the death, where the winner inherits the kingdom of Munkar (Bernard Erhard), except that's a lie and the whole point of the tournament is to get rid of anyone strong enough to challenge Munkar for the throne. Clever. But Munkar didn't realize the tournament winner would be a dude as daring and dangerous as Deathstalker! Fighting in the tournament gives the men access to the women of the kingdom for the warrior's own pleasurable means, which means we get to see Barbi Benton's boobs as Deathstalker lays her down to death-rock her world! Lana Clarkson, on the other hand, plays the female warrior Kaira who doesn't care if her top is off! She gets the stalk cock, too, as well as just walking around in an open robe whenever the film starts to get dull. Bet the D and D crowd loved those double Ds! We'd grab a sword and join the tourny if it meant we got a turn with one of the women in Deathstalker!
