Deadly Games

Ah, the old ‘video games impinging upon reality’ gimmick that’s never once been used to succesful effect (The Last Starfighter notwithstanding of course). James Calvert plays Gus Lloyd, a glum and dejected divorcee who spends time away from his scientist gig creating a video game about the people in his life. Through the use of silliness only found in the worst TV shows, the game comes to life and now the reality-based humans must do battle with their cybernetic alter-egos. Despite the presence of Cynthia Gibb and Christopher Lloyd, this one’s not nearly as entertaining as it sounds.
