Cradle 2 the Grave (2003)

The tagline for the action bash Cradle 2 the Grave (2003) states: “Born 2 the life. True 2 the code. Bad 2 the bone.” That’s 2 true. Hip-hop bad-ass DMX stars as high-stakes thief Tony Fait, who’s in the midst of a subterranean diamond heist, accompanied by dazzling Daria (Gabrielle Union). Hong Kong martial arts icon Jet Li plays Su, a Taiwanese special agent out to thwart Fait. After some slam-bang action sequences, Fait makes off with a sack of gems, only to later learn that what’s in the bag is far more valuable—and deadly—than any mere diamonds. Crime lords, kidnapping, and international tensions crop up, as Fait and Su must unite to fight bigger bad guys than they ever expected. Gorgeous Gabrielle brings sex appeal to the proceedings on par with the movie’s volcanic violence—and that’s saying something!
