After the ultimate demise of The Cosby Show, it wasn’t long before the star was itchin’ to get back on the air. He did so with Cosby, a series as generic and genial as its title suggests. Instead of a loving obstetrician, Cos is now a mild-mannered retiree who spends much of his time puttering about the house, irritating his wife and offering lengthy comedy bits on life in general. The obnoxious Doug E. Doug was the comic foil, while Phylicia Rashad returned to play the dutiful wife. Fans tuned in for the better part of four seasons before the show was canceled.
