Norman Cohen mans the camera for one of 1975’s most popular summer comedies––Confessions of a Pop Performer (1975), a sexy send-up of the excesses of the British record industry. The tale centers on crass entrepreneurs Sid Noggett (Anthony Booth) and Timmy Lea (Robin Askwith), for whom a forgettable performance by pub-rock band the Bloaters spells a ticket to fame and fortune. As the band’s lead singer, Nutter Normington (Peter Cleall), delivers scathing lyrics with a punk-rock scowl, Lea’s and Noggett’s eyes light up with dollar signs. Of course, sex is a prerequisite for drugs and rock ‘n’ roll, which is why Cohen enlists a team of busty broads to keep everybody entertained. Andee Cromarty, Jill Gascoine, Anita Kay, Linda Regan, and Maggie Wright vie to get their knickers down the fastest in this swingin’ ’70s sex romp.
