Famous French author and politician François-René de Chateaubriand gets his life dramatized in Chateaubriand (2010). Chateaubriand (Frederic Diefenthal) grew up in his family's castle in Combourg, Brittany, under the strict and authoritative eye of his domineering father. As an adult he used his experiences from his military career, a trip to America, the French Revolution, and several mam-orable muses to inspire his novels.
