Biography

French actress and author Charlotte Valandrey isn’t one to shy away from anything. Her acting career began with the role of Nadia in film Rouge baiser (1985), also known as Red Kiss. Barely hanging on to her teen years, the starlet bared her nubile body and breasts for a love scene, introducing herself to the world at large most properly. Born Anne-Charlotte Pascal, the actress grew up in small coastal town in France called Val-André, from which she took her professional name. From the late ‘80s through to the end of the ‘90s, Charlotte basically grew up on screen, appearing in movies like Fucking Fernand (1987) as Lily, where she offers up flashes of the spectacular two; and as Princess Sasha in Orlando (1992) with Tilda Swinton. She also appeared on the little screen in numerous TV series, movies, and mini-series for both Italy and France, including as Vanessa in Una casa a Roma (1988) with Valerie Perrine, and as Rose in Shadow of a Kiss (1995) with Michael York, as well as a leading series role as Myriam Cordier in Les Cordier, juge et flic from 1994-2003. Charlotte is also the dark-haired woman in David Bowie’s video for “As The World Falls Down” from the Labyrinth (1986) soundtrack—supposedly chosen because she resembled a grown-up version of Jennifer Connelly from the film. In 2005, she published her biography L’Amour dans le sang, or Love in the Blood; she appeared in a TV movie of the same name in 2008, based on the book and revolving around the heart transplant she actually had in real life. Her acting credits in the 2000s mostly include TV, with a role as Anne Desgrange in the mini-series Eyewitness (2018), and a massive role in Tomorrow is Ours, playing Laurence Moiret in almost 600 episodes from 2017-2019.
