Chances Are (1989)

Fate is a fickle and perverse practical joker, and the dice of destiny take one contrary bounce after another in Chances Are (1989). True and eternal love, that divinely bestowed glimpse of heaven on earth, is awarded to a man and a woman. As fate would have it, happily-ever-after husband is run down and killed while crossing the street on the date of his first wedding anniversary. The altruistic lover’s karma is good, however, and he is immediately reincarnated as a handsome fellow with all the benefits and privileges of material abundance and hearty health. Twenty years later he falls in love with a girl with whom he feels an immediate and almost supernatural bond. The cruel twist of kismet comes when he realizes that the girl he loves is his daughter from his previous life. Foreordained circumstances would be so much easier to deal with if the noble fellow’s soul had only been sent back into the body of an amoral cad.
