Caresses (1998)

Caresses (1998) is a black comedy told in eleven different episodes. There is no real plot to speak of, but rather a series of scenes focusing on violence, both emotional and physical, between couples. In one disturbing vignette, a man describes the awful odor that emanates from his lover. At times almost unbearably painful, this film still manages to carry the burden of truth. Mercè Pons climbs out of bed and shows off a cute pair of kumquats and a very, very black bush.
