For instance, the supreme carnal fulfillment enjoyed by an overweight, sexually aggressive rock ’n’ roll bass player might be experienced by a put-upon and erotically tortured groupie as a pure Bummer! (1972). Falling square within the “rough” category of exploitation fare, this wildly incautious cautionary tale presents the rock gypsy lifestyle in all its warty indignity. Camp-following cuties are coerced into sharing showers while being taunted and enduring torments of aggressive eroticism while being semi-willing strip-club companions. The chicks of Bummer! will do almost anything to bed down with some guys from a band. Their only mistake is that they should have lavished a little loving on that unsavory bass player.
