Review

Named film of the year by the Argentinean Film Critics Association, the densely lyrical Buenos Aires Vice Versa (1996) explores the history, culture, and turmoil of the Argentine capital through narratives about some of its many inhabitants. Alejandro Agresti’s film is comprised of a series of vignettes and features tales about an elderly and infirm couple, a young man with a blossoming political consciousness, and more. Content about the nation’s repressive, authoritarian government can be tough to swallow, but Agresti levies the angst by offering sumptuous views of one heroine, played by Vera Fogwill. The raven-haired beauty drops top and bottom on three separate occasions to flaunt every inch of her drool-worthy South American frame.
