Blue Lagoon: The Awakening (2012)

Times certainly have changed since the '70s. Where the original Blue Lagoon (1980) used a nude body double to substitute for a 15-year-old Brooke Shields, the semi-remake Blue Lagoon: the Awakening (2012) avoids the skin question entirely. Sure, star Indiana Evans kinda looks like a young Brooke. And sure, the director remembered to put in all the slow-motion bikini ass shots, white dresses without bras in the rain, and shower sideboobs that are the bread and butter of a movie like this, but there's just one thing standing between it and greatness: a thin layer of fabric. Better a body double than a hottie covered, right guys? It's a tragedy of sorts, but there is a particularly sexy scene featuring Indiana that occurs about 35 minutes in. In it, we get a great look at her hot bikini, cleavage, and sensuous legs. It's not as rewarding as seeing Indiana in her naked flesh, but it's enough to get the imagination working overtime. The plot of the movie is simple and recognizable, with the main difference between this and the older flicks being that it's set in contemporary times as opposed to the Victorian era. The two teens drift to an island after severing the line attaching a boat to a dinghy. The pair only get stranded on the island for 100 days before getting rescued by a tourist helicopter. They readjust to everyday life, assuming their rightful places in the social hierarchy of high school. The only thing missing is the nudity!
