Bloodbath at the House of Death

Bloodbath at the House of Death (1984)

Brief Nudity

Review

In 1975, a creepy place called Headstone Manor is being used to host a “businessman’s weekend retreat/girls’ summer camp,” naturally. That is, until a group of satanic monks arrive, led by a 700-year-old priest played by Vincent Price, who’s basically parodying his past roles in this horror comedy. The monks kill everybody there and then the film flashes forward to 1983, where Doctor Lukas Mandeville (Kenny Everett) and Doctor Barbara Coyle (Pamela Stephenson) are investigating radioactive readings emanating from that same spooky dwelling, which the locals now call “the House of Death.” At one point Mandeville reveals he’s actually a German surgeon named Ludwig Manheim, and while he feels this "paranormal research crap” is beneath him, he’s not too hoity-toity to turn down sex with a poltergeist. Then a bunch of satanic clones come in to kill off people and take their places before the monks turn out to be aliens and fly away in a spaceship. Despite the ridiculous plot, this film parody didn’t do well, supposedly due to the public antics of its star Everett, a British shock-jock-ish radio DJ and host. Like other horrors and horror comedies of the era, it has some supernatural nudity from Pamela when her nightgown gets ripped off and we see her bare boobs before she falls into the bed, plus some colossal cleavage from Debbie Linden as she tries to seduce her way out of an attack. These busty babes turn it into the House of Breasts!
