Also know as Smouldering Lust, this 1993 noir detective series was always a bit of wishful thinking from producers. Though smart and inventive, as well as containing plentiful acting talent, it just wasn’t ‘Friends-funny’ enough to survive past six episodes on network TV.Bradley Whitford played Dave Brodsky, private dick, flanked ably by girl Friday Cookie (Maggie Han). Kate Capshaw’s Lauren Bacall-like bad girl was a definite highlight but some shows are just not what middle America wants to watch while eating chili in their La-Z-Boy.
