Black Jack (1990)

Black Jack (1998) is directed by Hong Kong action auteur John Woo and stars Swedish meatball Dolph Lundgren as a United States marshal who protects high-profile clients. The movie was made for the USA network and has since been released on DVD, an odd trajectory for a big-time director, but anything Woo works on is at least worth a look. There are creative gun battles and fighting sequences that could only come from the frenetic mind of Woo. But Woo also gets sexier than usual with some hotness from Helena Bergstrom. That winning combination turns what could have been an exercise in by-the-numbers filmmaking into a worthy sight.
